The Anatolian Black are a breed of cattle from Turkey. The cows are used in dairy production. On small farms, they are primarily used as working animals. Anatolia, the Asia Minor portion of Turkey, has supported shorthorned cattle since the Hittite period over 4000 years ago. Today the Anatolian Black is Turkey's most popular breed. It is hardy, disease resistant and tolerant of poor care, meager diet and adverse climate conditions. This animal is used as a work animal or a dairy cow. They have short legs and are brown-black to dark gray in color. The females are 100 to 116 Cm tall and weigh 150 to 250 kg.
